Student visas are supported by a host Russian university. These visas are valid for up to 3 months and may be easily extended.

Visa Extension and duration control:

Foreign students’ duration of stay in the Russian Federation is determined by the validity period of their visa. A foreign citizen is obliged to depart from the Russian Federation upon the expiry of the authorized term of stay. Extension of the ordinary visa is the responsibility of the Federal Migration Service or its territorial bodies.

To extend the visa validity period and the duration of stay the visitor should apply to Protocol, Visa and Registration Office in advance, before the expiry of the abovementioned validity term.

The procedure for extending single-entry visa for VVSU foreign students:

Protocol, Visa and Registration Office employee establishes deadlines for students to provide passports with visas, migration cards and registrations for the Department of the Federal Migration Service to obtain multiple-entry visas.
