VSUES president Gennady Lazarev discussed issues of further possible cooperation with representatives from Toyama prefecture.

In 2012 Pimorsky region and Toyama prefecture will celebrate 20 years of friendly relations. It is planned to conduct a big number of cultural and social activities. Some of them are going to be hold on the basis of VSUES, because the University and Toyama prefecture have long-standing, fruitful cooperation. VSUES successfully cooperates with educational institutions of Toyama prefecture. From 2008 VSUES president Gennady Lazarev has been holding the Chair of Friendship society “Toyama-Vladivostok”. Japanese Rock-garden, tulip's flowerbed and Sakura garden occupy a significant part of VSUES park in University campus.

It is a little part of Japan in Vladivostok and we are proud that it is situated here,- said the head of International relations and politics department in the basin of the Sea of Japan of Toyama prefectural administration Mr. Makoto Kavauti during the meeting with VSUES president Gennady Lazarev.

Gennady Lazarev underlined that VSUES is working on thematic audience preparation, where the interior will be organized in accordance with Japanese esthetics. Students could deeply penetrate into Japanese language culture. It is also planned to organize classes on calligraphy of Japanese masters.

In view of the third entry construction into the VSUES campus, university administration decided to make tulip's flowerbed outside of the campus.

We will negotiate with the mayor of Vladivostok Igor Pushkarev the possibility to plant wasteland with tulips,- said Gannady Lazarev.

At the conclusion of the meeting VSUES president condoled with Japanese people upon the tragic events. He added the he sincerely believes in the power of spirit and resilience of Japanese people.
