VSUES is among the best Russian universities

The new international Webometrics ranking of higher education institutions was published in February, 2016. VSUES remained on its position among 50 Russian universities, taking 46th place and among over 24 thousand universities in the world, VSUES takes place of 2880.

Among the universities of Central and Eastern Europe VSUES takes 978 place, and in the ranking for the BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) VSUES ranked in the top 500, taking 464 place.

VSUES holds a leading position in the Webometrics ranking among the universities of the Far Eastern Federal District.

Table 1 provides a rating of Russian universities’ websites, which includes: Vladivostok State University of Economics and Service (VSUES), Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU), Maritime State University named after Admiral G. Nevelskoy (MGU named after Admiral G. Nevelskoy), Primorsky State Agricultural Academy (PGSHA), Far Eastern State Technical Fisheries University (Dalrybvtuz), Pacific National University (PNU, Khabarovsk), Vladivostok State Medical University.

- It is important to note that the Webometrics rankings influence on the evaluation of the university in the world rankings of higher education institutions and the Times Higher Education and QS, so the development of online resources today is one of the strategic objectives for our University.

Webometrics ranking criteria reflect not only the technology and the scale of its own website, but also the reputation of the university, as the estimated criteria are publication activity of University staff and citing in the Internet. Therefore, interested parties and applicants may use this ranking to compare universities activity.

Today, this rating is very authoritative, besides the results of its more dynamic than that of other academic rankings, as they instantly recognized the results of the university in the virtual space.

VSUES tends to create new connections, informal communication between scientists and the implementation of innovations by sharing experiences and creative collaboration.
