18 марта 2020 COVID-19

VSUES is strengthening measures to ensure a safe studying and working to protect the health of students and staff. These measures were taken in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education because of the unfavorable situation for a new corona virus infection.

Tatiana Terentieva, Rector of VSUES, Doctor of Economics, addressing students, staff, teachers and guests of the university, informed:

- Today I have signed the order on a package of measures to prevent the spread of a new corona virus infection. The day before, an operational headquarters was created, which included the heads of all structural units. In order to prevent the spread of a new corona virus infection and in pursuance of the order of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov, the students began distance learning. The teachers use electronic educational materials during the spring semester of the current academic year.

The university has extensive experience in the remote contact of students and teachers in implementing educational programs of full-time education and external degree programs. The last two months, our foreign students were forced to stay in their countries due to the threat of the spread of corona virus have been studying online. This experience allows us to be completely sure that a temporary transition to distance learning technologies will allow us to give the necessary knowledge for the profession.

This challenge should be an occasion for us to achieve goals in the development of new educational technologies.

All mass events planned for the spring period at VSUES will be postponed until the fall of 2020.

In order to prevent the import of corona virus infection into the territory of Primorsky Krai, a decision was made to cancel spring business trips of staff and students outside Primorsky Krai.

Life makes new challenges and gives new opportunities. Teachers improve lecture courses and educational technologies; students expand their intellectual horizons to have a new look at their own goals and ways to achieve them.

The situation with the spread of corona virus infection is a challenge to all humanity. The health of each of us is not only a personal matter, but also a social responsibility, because our relatives, friends and colleagues are nearby. And not thinking about preventive measures is irresponsible. We understand and accept this challenge. I am sure that very soon we will return to the normal mode of life, but for now I ask for more discipline. The most important asset of every person is the health, Tatiana Terentieva emphasized.

It is worth noting that the university was among the first among Russian universities which created the electronic campus services for educational process. A student finds all that is needed for education in a virtual personal account: class schedule, training materials, access to electronic libraries and other services, educational electronic courses. Digital-based educators create new learning content.

There are several hundred electronic educational courses in the electronic educational environment of the university. Students have access to these courses in anytime, anywhere through the Internet. In the electronic environment, students can subscribe to webinars, take tests, post completed homework, and participate in virtual forums.
