Creative symbiosis: sketches of a VSUES student, inspired by Asia, are presented at the International Stylists Competition

Daria Koropova, a future fashion designer, a 3rd-year student of the Department of Design and Technology, became a participant in the Second Chinese-Russian International stylist contest Stylist King 2021. This is the only competition focused on the creation of industrial collections and aimed at the formation of professional personnel for Russian clothing manufacturers. The theme of the contest is "Symbiosis, warm autumn-winter history".

— The contest was held online. At the first stage, the participants were asked to complete two tasks – to create collages of clothes of the proposed brands and make a video business card. I have worked with three brands — Ice bear, City Class, Luissante. After the announcement of the list of 100 semi-finalists, which I also entered, we proceeded to the next stage — to go to the store and choose two sets of clothes and a jacket of the proposed brand, shoot it all on video, accompanied by subtitles for representatives from China, — emphasizes Daria Koropova. — It was a wonderful and unusual experience. All semi-finalists are presented with gifts from the brand and a certificate of participation!

With the help of short videos, images and texts, the participants had to show their style and their own vision of modern trends — a symbiosis of Chinese-Russian styles:

— We are looking for 100 new fashion stylists to give Russian youth the opportunity to show their talents, enter the Chinese market and contribute to the cultural and economic exchange between China and Russia, — the organizers of the contest emphasize.

The jury of the competition includes managers and chief designers of large enterprises, teachers of specialized universities, analysts, consultants, journalists, buyers.

In her video business card, the student of VSUES presented sketches of clothes created in the Asian style:

— The basis was taken from the traditional painting of China and the crane. I was also inspired by the Korean k-pop music group BTS, — says Daria.

Beijing Association for the Promotion of Original Design is the initiator of the Stylist King International Stylist Contest. Young people from different cities of China, Russia, the Republic of Belarus and the United Arab Emirates took part in the competition, this year.
