Students of the International Relations and teachers of VVSU visited the exhibition «Oh, Havana! Transit...» which opened in the Primorye State Picture Gallery. There they not only enjoyed the art, but also attended a meeting between a delegation of painting authors and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Cuba to Russia, Julio Antonio Garmendia Peña, who arrived in the Far East for the first time.

The exhibition commemorates the 500th anniversary of Havana, the capital of the island of freedom, and the anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the USSR and the Republic of Cuba.

The VVSU students shared their impressions of the exhibition:

– This exhibition was an island of warmth and sunshine for me in the midst of a cold winter. I loved the paintings displayed at the event. Each of them is beautiful and distinctive. It is impossible not to note the importance of this event from the political point of view. I hope that the meeting of significant persons of Cuba and Russia can influence in a positive way the established diplomatic relations between our countries.

– Oh, Havana! Transit... showed its best side. I really was able to change my perception of some things. I managed to see a Cuban ambassador who speaks fluent Russian! The art turned out to be equally beautiful. So many beautiful pictures! It is through art that you can understand the people who live in the country.
