The Vladivostok State University has won a grant from the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education in the amount of 1 million rubles to support student scientific community development. The funds will be allocated towards implementing the project titled “Science Without Borders.”

A total of 316 applications were submitted nationwide as part of the competition for grants provided in the form of subsidies to higher education institutions aimed at supporting student research initiatives.

Applications underwent two stages of evaluation by federal experts. The jury assessed experience within the student scientific community regarding its organizational-scientific activities and scientific-research work, participation in industry-specific competitions, content of the proposed community development projects.

In total, only 20 universities across Russia have been awarded 1 million rubles each following the completion of the competition. Among them are just two located on the Far East — Vladivostok State University and Amur State University.

These funds will be invested into the three-stage project called “Science Without Borders: Science in Digital Format,” which includes an educational-intensive program, supervised student research, and an international forum for young scientists.

This project is designed to attract students from educational organizations throughout the Far Eastern region into scientific endeavors. It may increase interest in science and create new generations of researchers. This project can preserve and enhance intellectual potential in Primorsky Krai and the Far East regions, establish comprehensive systems for training and reproducing scientific personnel, strengthen qualified workforce preparation for high-tech industries in the Far East, and foster patriotism and pride in Russian scholars and their achievements.

The events under grant realization are planned to be hold in Autumn 2025.
