Department of Tourism and Ecology

The Department of Tourism and Ecology trains high-class bachelors and masters in the fields of Tourism, Hospitality and Ecology.

The Department offers the following majors:

Tourism

Provided theoretical and practical knowledge allow alumni to work in the tourism industry as well as in the hotel and restaurant business. The students study such aspects as the development and implementation of a tourist product, the organization of integrated tourist services in the main sectors of the tourism industry, the management of tourist and recreational complexes, as well as the administration of hotels and restaurants.

Fully equipped educational laboratories are offered for the convenience of the educational process. Such laboratories include:

  • Laboratory for organization and management of domestic and international tourism
  • Laboratory of the technologies of hotel services
  • Unit for showcasing the process of organization and management of the restaurant services

Ecology and environmental management

Education in this field of study is based upon the block principle as it covers three interlinked and mandatory blocks:

  • the basics of fundamental biology with biological content mainly
  • the fundamentals of social ecology, which form attitude of the society towards nature
  • the basics of nature and environment protection

Students perform their practical and laboratory work on the basis of academic and applied institutions and in the state nature reserve parks of the Russian Far East.

The Department of Tourism and Ecology closely cooperates with the administration of Primorsky Krai, the administration of Vladivostok, with local municipalities, public and scientific organizations, environmental enterprises, hotel and tourism business. Leading professionals and representatives of the expert community take part in practical classes, round tables and conferences.

Besides, international scientific ties with the leading foreign universities in the US, in China, in Republic of Korea and Japan have been in development since the very formation of the Department of Tourism and Ecology.
