Department of Theory and History of Russian and Foreign Law

The Department of Theory and History of Russian and Foreign Law was opened in 2009, as a result of uniting of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law and the Department of International and Foreign Law.

The department faculty is proud for its professors who are professional lawyers, specialists in international relationships, political scientists and historians.  This allows to train highly competitive and unique lawyers, experts in international relationships and political scientists. Creative, innovative and practice-oriented approach of our professors allows giving classes in the form of lectures, discussions, practical lessons, professional workshops, interactive conferences.  

The faculty of the department carries out active research work, implements fundamental research under various grant projects supported by such foundations as Russian Humanitarian Scientific Foundation, Russian Foundation of Fundamental Research, Presidential Grants Foundation, and etc. In addition, the leading professors implement social and political (sociological, analytical, field) research in cooperation with leading research centers of the country (Research Institute Higher School of Economics, Lomonosov Moscow State University, and others). International projects are also carried out with the partners from PRC, Japan, Italy.

The students are actively involved in these studies, whose work is supported by individual and collective grants. Freshman students have a unique opportunity to participate in real fundamental and applied research under the guidance of leading scientists.
