Maslenitsa holiday celebration

Evetybody are invited to celebrate Russian folk holiday Maslenitsa, which will take place near the dormitory entrance March 6, 2019.
The events will begin at 13:00.

Maslenitsa is one of the oldest Slavic holiday, which history goes back to the times of paganism. In the old days Maslenitsa was for remembrance of the dead and the trditional food - pancakes was a coliphia. Maslenitsa also marked the end of winter and the welcoming of spring. On the Christian side, Maslenitsa is the last week before the onset of Lent (fasting which precedes Easter), giving the last chance to bask in worldly delights.
