Museum and exhibition complex of VSUES - “Territory where the continents meet”

The exhibition of national cultures “Territory where the continents meet” was opened in the Museum and exhibition complex of VSUES. Representatives of consulates accredited in Vladivostok displayed their showpieces. These were the consulate general of India, the Republic of Korea, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the USA, Japan and a branch of the consulate general of P.R. China in Vladivostok.

- This exhibition is another step for VSUES to get better acquainted with culture of our close neighbors. It happened so that the university has been cooperating actively with the countries that displayed articles of their national cultures in the exhibition, - remarked chief of International relations department of VSUES Anastasiya Kucherenko.

The diplomatic officials living in Vladivostok were suggested to submit any art object that could express the national culture of their country.

VSUES president Gennady Lazarev represented Russia at the opening of the exhibition. The artists rendered a Russian folk song with key accordion. Students of the department of cultural studies of VSUES prepared a show-case with hand-painted stones.

The consul general of the USA Mrs. Silviya Rid Kurran presented a collection of decorative dolls made by hand out of beads. The dolls symbolized four seasons: winter, spring, summer and autumn and also elements: land, water, air and fire.

Japan was introduced by its articles for tea ceremony, items for flower arrangement and for calligraphy.
