VSUES and Toyama prefecture Silver Jubilee of Friendship
The festive event marking the 25th Anniversary of friendship ties of Toyama Prefecture and Primorsky krai will be held in July this year. In advance of the silver jubilee, the Japanese delegation of Friendship Society “Toyama - Vladivostok” met with VSUES President, Prof. Gennady Lazarev - the chairperson of this Friendship Society in Vladivostok.
The head of the Japanese delegates and chairperson of this Friendship Society in Toyama Mr. Yano Shigeru thanked Prof. Gennady Lazarev for careful attitude to the Zen Garden located on the university campus since 2001. “Morimoto Garden” - Zen garden was named from the first chairperson of the Friendship Society “Toyama - Vladivostok” Mr. Yoshio Morimoto. He personally sponsored the project of the Garden that was made with the efforts of Toyama Prefecture Association of Gardeners. The author of the project is Mr. Shinji Kugo, the master of Zen (Japanese) garden art.
“Our quarter-century relations of partnership and friendship really have withstood the test of time. Due to this gathered experience of successful collaboration we’ll be able to carry out a lot of new joint projects aimed at the prosperity of two our countries”, noted Mr. Yano Shigeru. Prof. Gennady Lazarev specially pointed out that we had been developing our friendship and partnership relations steadily over the years.
