School of Information Technologies

The School of Information Technologies of VVSU is a new type of department which unites the production sphere, research and educational spheres. The School includes university departments whose work is related to the development of information technologies and their use:

• Department of Applied information and analytical systems
• Department of Modern Optics and Photonics
• Department of Information Technology and Systems

The School cooperates with employers actively: practitioners conduct classes on an ongoing basis, read individual lectures, conduct master classes, participate in the development of curricula.

As part of the practice-integrated education the students do internship at the enterprise apart from their studies. The students attend classes on certain days of the week, on the other days they work on different practical issues in enterprises.

The School of Information Technologies has Center for Information Technology which provides major development of IT solutions for university management. Students also participate in these developments.

The Department of Modern Optics and Photonics has been organized together with the Institute of Automation and Control Processes of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The department takes part in teaching students in their majors like Information and Communication Technologies and Communication Systems.

Information systems and technologies (profile Information systems and technologies) - this field of study develops complex competences in the field of development of information systems and services, construction and use of databases, construction and administration of information networks.

• designing and developing information systems, services, websites and mobile applications
• developing, using and administering databases
• enterprise IT infrastructure design
• developing and implementing IT solutions for enterprises
• administration of information systems and corporate networks.
