School of Creative Industries

The School of Creative Industries of VVSU includes the following departments:

• Department of Design and Technology (university level education)
• Fashion and Beauty Industry School (non-university level education)
• Educational laboratory complex

The School of Creative Industries established Theater of Fashion "Pygmalion" and has Educational and laboratory complex.

The Department of Design and Technology was established in September 2015. It prepares designers for various areas of work. A student gets here a descent general art preparation which allows solving any design issues: interior design of residential and public buildings, landscape design elements, corporate design, shop windows and etc. Students develop such skills as drawing and painting, mastering in vector graphics, photo processing in graphic programs, creation of 3d objects and scenes, flash animations, project graphics, use of various materials and techniques in the projects.

The Department of Design and Technology has several specialized laboratories:

• Laboratory drafting and modeling
• Photo studio
• Model workshop
• Specialized computer class
• Laboratory of computer-aided design of clothing
• Sewing laboratories are equipped with high-speed universal and special sewing equipment and equipment for steamers made in Italy, in the Republic of Korea, in the People's Republic of China
• The laboratory of garment construction has multimedia equipment and drawing tables
• The laboratory of Image and Style “Style-expert” is equipped with a set of equipment and testing materials of the well-known company “Beauty For All Seasons” which allows to determine the color type of a person’s appearance and to determine the color design of a costume
• The laboratory of materials science is equipped with instruments and machines allowing determining and investigating the properties of materials and to carry out certification of products

Fashion industry school is an educational unit of VVSU and offers vocational education (non-university level of education) in following majors:

• Hairdressing
• Design (in different areas)
• Technique and art of photography
• Commerce (in different areas)
• Photographer

Theater of Fashion "Pygmalion" - the first in the Russian Far East theater with a modeling agency. In professional community Pygmalion has an image of a school that provides strong training for future clothing demonstrators and photo models.
