June 18, 2011 Yukata show took place in VSUES Fashion theater. The Yukata is a Japanese summer kimono worn by both men and women. The name Yukata comes from the word “yu” (bath) and “katabira” (under clothing ). Like other forms of traditional Japanese clothing Yukata is made with straight seams and wide sleeves. Unlike formal kimono, which are made of silk, Yukata is typically made of cotton or synthetic fabrics, and is unlined.

The general idea of this show is an attempt to combine theory of VSUES researches with practice as well as to demonstrate Yukata of different styles: from classic to modern.

This event was supported by the Consulate - General of Japan in Vladivostok, the Japan Center, and  VSUES Department of Fashion and Service.
