Applicants choose VSUES: hundreds of school graduates visited the University Open Day.
On the 21st of January there was a large number of visitors in the “Winter garden” of VSUES. Hundreds of future prospective students from schools of the city and the region came to the university for the Open Day.
- The guests came to us from Ussuriysk, Arseniev, Bolshoy Kamen, Kirovsky and Shkotovsky regions, Kamen-Rybolova, Slavianka, Partizansk, Spask-Dalny, Mikhailovsky region and also from all the schools of Vladivostok, - said director of the Center “Applicant” Svetlana Klimenko. – There is a huge interest to our university: children are interested in not only the choice of profiles and conditions of entry, but in the university itself. VSUES is one of the few higher education institutions in Russia which provides practice-targeted education.
VSUES has a right to be proud of itself: the university nowadays implements interesting educational programs that are in-demand at the labour market. We analyzed possibilities of the region development, systematized requirements of employers and opened a number of new unique and sought-after profiles.
In the theater “Underground” the schoolchildren and their parents were welcomed by the VSUES president, doctor of economic sciences, professor Gennady Lasarev. – Many of you are for the first time at the university and I am sure that each minute spent here will be quality time, - said the president, - Right now you are choosing further life path and it is important to do it correctly. The strategy of our university development is to make sure that each VSUES graduate will receive excellent education that will help him further in life.
What is promised by other universities in a five-year period, has already been implemented in VSUES: comfortable campus with covered cross-walks between residential and academic buildings, modern scientific laboratories, library rooms and academic classrooms equipped with electronic terminals, wireless internet on the whole campus territory, most present-day sport complex, practice chamber for court sessions and even our own training hotel. The main difference of VSUES from the absolute majority of other universities: we do not speak about innovations in the future tense. All what we already have here is just being planed by the others, - Gennady Innokentievich gave a summery.
After the official part the schoolchildren and their parents listened to the concert. Afterwards they visited different schools where they could receive advice from the teachers and psychologists.
More than 1000 school graduates and their parents come each year to VSUES for the University Open Day. Parents are interested to learn about conditions of living and studying that their children will have for the next 4 years and also to get acquainted with future teachers, to appraise convenience and fitting of the university classrooms. Many parents were once VSUES students themselves and were glad to return to their Alma Mater.
