Exhibition of calligraphy works and flower compositions in a vase was opened in the small exhibition hall of the International relations department of VSUES. It was named “Heady scent of spring”.

The presented works were made by the schoolchildren and students who attended classes in the hall of fine arts of the East “To Yo Geidzutsu Kan”.

Vice consul of the Consulate general of Japan in Vladivostok Mr. Murayama Tomonori visited opening of the exhibition:

- I have seen many wonderful pieces of work that could be created only by people who have very kind heart and peaceful soul. As they say in Japan, once you see how a man is writing, you will understand his soul. If a person does not obtain a balance of mind before he starts his work, he will not be able to write hieroglyphic symbols evenly and fairly.

More than 30 pieces of calligraphy work and 10 flower arrangements are presented in the exhibition hall. Before exhibiting their works the children have studied calligraphy art for half a year. Chinese students have recently started to attend the hall of fine arts.

According to the secretary of Association for Friendship “Vladivostok-Toyama”, chief of the calligraphy club “Eternity” Vladimir Yanfa, good conditions are created for apprentices both in the calligraphy club and in the hall of fine arts of the East “To Yo Geidzutsu Kan” for creating masterpieces of calligraphy art. A studio of ikebana will be opened this year. Enrolment has been started in it.
