It is first case in the history of Vladivostok that VSUES students have created a new art object in the technique of “3D view on a flat surface”. Six 4-year students of the profile “Business informatics” had a creative approach in performing their final task within the subject of “Project management”. Under the supervision of the director of VSUES High school of management, associate professor of the Department of mathematics and modelling Roman Lugovoy they have developed and put a 3D drawing on the roof of a training car repair shop on the VSUES territory.

The composition in the “street art” style represents an image of the VSUES campus and symbol against a background of the bridge across Golden Horn bay. The original drawing was designed by the students of the VSUES Academic college.

The students used acrylic paints and applied polish to several details, such as windows and VSUES symbol to make the picture look more realistic. The leader of the group Ekaterina Lysenko told about how the composition had been created and what benefits the participants of the project had made out of it in the end:

When the project has been successfully completed, we have understood just how many new things we have learned in the process. VSUES gave us a unique opportunity to use our knowledge and skills in practice. We came across some unexpected circumstances and risks that could not be accounted well in advance. There were people who questioned our idea. However, we are very proud of ourselves now that the project has been completed with success.

This project was presented at the contest “Best student project of 2012” in Moscow. Members of the jury, leading teachers and consultants considered more than 130 student projects from different universities of the CIS countries. The students from Vladivostok State University of Economics and Service were awarded silver in the category “Best project” for their work “3D picture on the territory of a university campus”.
