One of the classes for the students of the Russian language courses was organized out of the ordinary way - in the family recreation park “Shtykovskyie ponds”. The field trip for the students from the USA, Japan and Korea was carried out by the teachers of the department of the Russian language.

The young people got into groups and set out on a search for treasure following special ciphered instructions. In order to find it they had to learn new words and at the same time to explore nests of the park. Later on sports competitions required already skillfulness and team spirit rather than knowledge of the language. The participants had all of that in plenty. Fans of a more calm repose went to the creative workshops of ceramics, art painting, making adornments out of glass and soap boiling. Bathing in a pond and singing songs with accordion made the time go too quickly for the cheerful group of the students and teachers.

Chief of the department Yuliya Konovalova said: “It is a known fact that it is easier to learn a foreign language in informal friendly atmosphere. Some of our classes are held out of the classroom – in museums, in the open air, during excursions. It gives an opportunity to see real life, customs and culture of Russia”.

A student from the USA Tadhg Fendt shared his impressions with us: “It has been a great time today. We made a camp fire, ate a very tasty barbeque and even swam. We learned Russian songs about Antoshka and about “new turn”. We also saw what a beautiful nature there was in the Primorski Krai”.
