TINRO-Center has opened its doors to foreign students of VSUES

Last week the American students of the Russian Far East Studies Course of the School of foreign languages of VSUES saw an original oldest atlas of the region, matched their height against a whalebone and learned many interesting facts about the Pacific research fishery center.

On December, 5 staff members of the museum of TINRO history together with representatives of a unique museum of rare books made a tour for the foreign students. During the tour they told about rich history of fishing industry in the Far East and about main research trends of the Center. The students were also given an opportunity to see rare books which were a crown jewel of TINRO. The tour turned out to be an interesting and an informative one.
