Design contest "WID-INTERIO-2013" – best works are selected
Annual design contest “WID–INTERIOR–2013” is completed in the Museum and exhibition complex of VSUES. The first stage of the exhibition was opened on May, 28th. Works in the category of “Art in the interior” were appraised first. Second round took place on June, 25th and included all the categories of the contest.
According to the organizer of the exhibition, member of “Union of designers of Russia” Natalia Lichmanyk, works were selected by different criteria: originality and novelty of designer and structural concepts, application of innovative materials and technologies, figurativeness and expressiveness, social value of the object and many others.
This year the design contest “WID–INTERIOR” was held in honour of centenary of collage and was related to the theme “Collage as an art practice in the interior”. That is why all the pieces of art at the exhibition starting from seed bead adornments and knitted headwear up to articles of clothing and landscape design are all done in a style of collage.
