VSUES professor Natalya Khisamutdinova acquainted her international colleagues with history and culture of the Russian Far East

Natalya Khisamutdinova, professor of the Western-European Language Department of VSUES, has just returned from the international conference held in Great Britain. The three-day conference was devoted to the Russian Bolshevik Revolution of 1917, its nature and consequences. It took place at the University of East Anglia in the city of Norwich, 60 miles away from London, and gathered academics from the universities of Oxford, London, Yale (USA), Freiburg (Germany) and others. Professor Khisamutdinova represented VSUES with a report on refugees who were forced to escape to the Russian Far East during the Civil War. The professor emphasized that through participation in this conference she was able not only to practice English but also to share knowledge about science and culture of our region with the international colleagues.  She said that the other participants expressed a particular interest towards “The Russian Far East Program” carried out in VSUES by the School of Foreign Languages.

Natalya Khisamutdinova presented the University’s library in Norwich with her books about lives of the Russian people who had to move to the Far East and their contribution to the academic and cultural development of the region. She also visited London and brought beautiful pictures of her trip to share with her home university.
