On February, 23 the first Winter Games in the history of Russia were officially closed. Achievements of the Russian athletes gave the Russian team 33 medals including 13 gold ones.

According to the results our country took the first place in the medal standings. It is an absolute record. No other country has ever gained so many gold medals in winter Games.

XXII Olympic winter games became the best event for many volunteers. VSUES volunteers shared their impressions.

Valeriya Zmievskaya:

- Working with world-known sports stars requires big responsibility and knowledge from volunteers. They should speak foreign languages and be polite and pleasant. Every day I was solving various day-to-day issues of inhabitants of our village.

Volunteer work is highly appreciated by sportsmen, staff of National Olympic committees and spectators. I am very happy to have been a volunteer in Sochi. It is great that VSUES has a center of volunteers in Vladivostok. After the Games I have many new acquaintances, valuable experience and memories of extraordinary emotions I have lived through in Sochi. My new friends are volunteers from the USA, Great Britain and Poland. They are leaving with exactly the same joyful emotions and are sincerely grateful to our country for warm reception, hospitality and the Games that have passed at their best.

Alena Chizheumova, 4-year student of the School of Law:

- I am an assistant of the housekeeping department in the Coastal Olympic village. Me and my colleagues were responsible for placement of sportsmen in their rooms. We were the first volunteers to meet the guests in the village.

I enjoy my work. All the trainers and sportsmen are appreciative and responsive people. Every day in the village is a memorable one with new and interesting events.

Volunteers were thanked for their work at the closing ceremony. Carina Subbotina was among the 4 recognized volunteers. Carina is a 5-year student of the School of International Business and Economy. She has also been a volunteer of ХХХ Summer Olympic Games in London and a torchbearer at the Olympic Torch Relay.
