VSUES: new projects for volunteers

After the XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi volunteer activity in Russia has significantly increased especially among the youths. The number of international events requiring volunteer assistance is also growing.

Deputy first vice-rector of VSUES for youth policy Konyukhova Tatyana who supervised preparation of volunteers for “Sochi 2014” took part in a seminar in Pyatigorsk. Twenty volunteer organizations became participants of the seminar. They exchanged experience in training volunteers and made ​​presentations on the program "Formation of volunteer centers on the base of educational institutions as an effective component of the development of volunteering and social planning in Russia."

At the initiative of Tatyana Konyukhova VSUES became a member of the "Association of voluntary initiatives in education". It affiliates educational institutions with existing centers for volunteers which take active part in voluntary projects and help develop volunteer services in the region.

This participation will give VSUES students and young people of our region an opportunity to participate in different projects: "Volunteer lessons", "Volunteer tours and internships", "Intercultural interaction." It also allows them to go abroad to take part in international volunteer programs, to obtain experience of foreign colleagues and to improve the world.
