The 3-year student of environment design Ekaterina Kochetkova participated in the educational Global Youth Camp 2014 in Inchon, South Korea. The session was called Global leadership. It included students from different countries of the world: Italy, USA, Thailand, India, Russia and, of course, the host country of South Korea.

Students from our city were selected by the Office of Youth Affairs in Vladivostok. According to selection criteria the applicants were to provide an essay about themselves and a portfolio of their achievements. Students also had to have a high level of English. Finalists received an opportunity to spend a week in the Youth Camp 2014 for free.

Ekaterina Kochetkova is a scholar of Potanin Foundation 2013 and an interpreter - volunteer of the annual youth festival of twin cities of Asia Pacific countries.

This is what she said about her trip to Korea:

- The camp program was divided into educational and cultural parts. The first part included master classes, lectures and meetings with interesting people from the UN and politicians. For instance, the mayor of Inchon came to our meeting.

The cultural part was very interesting as well. We had a master class of cooking Korean sweets and making a traditional Korean fan.

I enjoyed this trip. Most of all I liked to communicate with students from different countries. All of them had a high level of English.

We should note here International Relations department of VSUES deals with organization of exchange programs and internships abroad.
