"French spring" in VSUES

The meeting of Senior Vice President Tatyana Terenteva and Attaché for University Cooperation of the French Embassy in the Russian Federation Guillaume Garreta took place in VSUES.
Since the beginning of a new year, it is the third meeting in VSUES with representatives of France. In the end of February, we held a lecture by Professor of Philosophy of the University of Paris-Sorbonne, Jean Cassien-Billier and presentation "Higher education in France."
This time Guillaume Garreta, Attaché of the French Embassy in the Russian Federation for University Cooperation, became a guest. Mr. Guillaume expressed interest in such areas of study at our university, as the design (costume, interior, graphic, landscape), ecological (environmental) management, IT-technology, economics, and tourism.
Our university best teachers of IT-trends and design students interned in France, and we should develop it at different levels: senior undergraduate bachelors, masters and teachers. This practice dates back to the 90s - said Nadezhda Sukhareva, VSUES Exhibition and Museum Complex Director - when our design students, high school winners of the contest "Pygmalion" at the competition of non-professional designers, established by Pierre Cardin, took two first places for dressers and jewelers. Today, "Pygmalion" has grown into an International Fashion Week in Vladivostok.
Director of the "Alliance Française Vladivostok" Elena Nikitina noted that VSUES is a very active school, makes very quick decisions and, most importantly, co-finance joint projects.
Tatyana Terenteva, VSUES Senior Vice President, stressed that the strategic development program of the University aims to develop the priorities of undergraduate and graduate programs, for which it is desirable to co-operate, especially with universities in France.
In addition, it is planned to acquaint our students from the first year with the opportunity to learn French as a second language with the prospect of a foreign internship in France after the 3rd year - linguistic or by the main program of study.
AlexandraPiginesheva reported that since the beginning of activity in our city of cultural and educational organization "Alliance Française Vladivostok" VSUES students show a growing interest in the study of French language.
At the end of the meeting, the guest visited the University Museum and Exhibition Complex and learnt more about the Russian-French projects, already implemented in cooperation with VSUES.
