Ambassador of EU and students of VSUES studying International Relations met at the European School

The European School took place in Vladivostok in the beginning of October. The European School is the event organized by the Delegation of the European Union to Russia in order to brief Russian citizens on the urgent issues of EU development as well as to introduce Russian and European most authoritative experts on political, economic, law and foreign affairs problems.

It was the first experience for such school in the Russian Far East. The assistant professor Leonid Kozlov and the student of VSUES Ilya Raklistov were also among the participants to represent the university. As Ilya Raklistov said, the School gave an opportunity to know a lot of useful information in the sphere of International Relations that is also his special field to study in the university. “On the lessons of the European School the best experts of Russia and Europe presented us their points of views on Euro-Russian relations, integration processes in the EU, Russian prospects in economics and education. The European School helped me to open my head towards different vision of the issues and to meet wonderful people”, - says Ilya.

Speakers of the School were the Ambassador of EU in Russia Vygaudas Usackas, project manager of the Press and Media Department of the Delegation of the EU to Russia Andrey Kasyanenko, Principal Counsellor of Federal Employment Agency of Germany Johannes Vogel, Head of Friedrich Naumann Foundation in Moscow Julius von Freytag-Loringhoven, Head of Moscow branch of European Investment Bank Christian Tsellner.

The key issues of the School were the Euro-Russian relations, EU urgent problems such as economy crisis, immigration, integration bounds, nation building and ethnic minorities, balance of inviolability of the territory and nation’s self-determination.
