Russian bliny for Japanese students

21 октября 2019 Students’ life

October18, 2019 Russian and Japanese students had a joint event in making pancakes. During the event the students also practiced in the foreign language. Russians students were learning Japanese language, and Japanese students were learning Russian.

- Japanese students came to VSUES under exchange program from a partner Niigata University of International and Information Studies, Japan. Here, the students learn Russian language and in addition to practical classes in the classrooms, they have many different activities. Such activities include joint events with Russian students, which allows both of them to have real language practice, says Yulia Radaeva, teacher of Japanese language.

- We really liked the lesson. It brought us closer to Japanese students. We taught them how to make pancakes and the Japanese really liked them. This helped them to understand Russian culture better. It helped all of us to expand our «language horizons». After all, we were able to try everything that we studied in the lessons, we were able to understand our mistakes and learn new words. I would like to participate in similar events with foreign students more often, says Nikita Suetin, a junior student majoring in Foreign Regional Studies.
