VSUES student Alexander Mikhailyuk won the Kickboxing World Cup

A 3rd-year student of the Department of Physical Culture and Recreation Work of the VSUES (Bachelor''s degree «Pedagogical Education. Physical culture»), a pupil of the sports school «Bastion» in Vladivostok, Alexander Mikhailyuk won the «gold» of the 26th World Cup in kickboxing. More than 3 thousand participants from 45 countries took part in the international competitions Hungarian Kickboxing World Cup 2021 in Budapest (Hungary).

According to the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of the Primorsky Territory, the athlete performed in the weight category up to 67 kilograms in one of the most spectacular and tough sections of kickboxing – full contact with a low kick.

The student of the honored trainer of Russia Yuri Borodia on the way to the first place defeated the representatives of Poland, Ireland and Moldova. In addition, Alexander Mikhailyuk fulfilled the standard of the Master of Sports of Russia.

The Primorsky athlete is a master of sports in kudo, a bronze medalist of the Russian championship and the European kickboxing championship and a three-time winner of the Russian kudo championship.

According to the trainer of the athlete Yuri Borodia, now Alexander is actively preparing for qualifying competitions in his basic sport – kudo, in order to get to the World Championship in this martial art, which will be held in Tokyo next year.
