As part of the events dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the dialogue partnership and the 30th anniversary of relations between Russia and ASEAN. The final event was a meeting of students of the Department of International Relations and Law with the head of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in Vladivostok, Andrey Brovarets. He told the students about the profession of a diplomat, as well as about the relations between Russia and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Since July 1996, Russia has been a full-scale dialogue partner with ASEAN. Andrey Petrovich noted that our country has close ties with Vietnam in the field of nuclear energy, oil and gas production. According to some experts, relations between Hanoi and Moscow are in no way inferior in importance to Russian-Chinese relations. Vietnam is Russia's main partner in ASEAN. On January 30, 1950, the USSR and Vietnam established diplomatic relations, thereby laying the foundations of long-term friendship and close cooperation between our countries. In 2014, Vladivostok hosted a meeting of the Russian-Vietnamese intergovernmental commission at the level of first deputy prime ministers and a dialogue between the deputy foreign ministers of Russia and Vietnam with the participation of the ambassadors of both states.

— Trade and investment cooperation is a clear confirmation of the trust-based nature of bilateral relations in the areas of electronic trading systems and security. The vice-premiers of the two countries are chairing the coordination of work in this area within the framework of the intergovernmental Russian-Vietnamese commissions on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation, Andrei Brovarets stressed. — The fuel and energy complex remains a priority. Gazprom PJSC, Rosneft Oil Company and Vietsovpetro Joint venture are currently operating on the continental shelf of Vietnam. The cooperation of the Russian-Vietnamese joint ventures Rusvietpetro IC LLC and Gazpromviet LLC on gas and oil production in the territory of the Russian Federation is progressing.

At the meeting, the issue of the possibility of students of the direction «International Relations» of practical training in the Representation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in Vladivostok was discussed, because last year several students of this direction already had similar experience and adequately passed the internship in the Representation.

— The meeting with Andrey Petrovich was on an urgent topic, especially for future specialists in the field of international relations. It was interesting to learn about the relationship between Russia and Vietnam from a person who is involved in the diplomatic process — shared the 4th-year student of the International Relations course, Angelina Vedyashkina.

— During their studies, our students receive not only theoretical knowledge that can help them in their future careers, including in the field of foreign policy and diplomacy, but also through meetings with leading experts in their field, — summed up Roman Grivanov, Head of the Department of International Relations and Law of VSUES.
