26 ноября 2021 University life

To mark the thirtieth anniversary of the international activity of the VSUES, the Museum and Exhibition Complex organized an exhibition. It is part of a series of projects and events related to the upcoming fiftieth anniversary of the university.

In 1991, a new department entered the structure of the university — international. Practical activities in the field of international cooperation were preceded by significant preparatory work, the main result of which was the receipt of a certificate in the state register of participants in foreign economic relations.

At that time, a small but actively developing regional university since the 90s, made great efforts to become part of the global educational process. The students of VSUES had to have the opportunity to study with the best teachers, not only Russian, but also foreign.  The process of international integration has affected almost all aspects of the university's life: science, culture, sports, material and technical base. The experience of partnership cooperation with the countries of the Asia-Pacific region and Europe was being developed.

Today, VSUES is a truly international university, which has bilateral cooperation agreements with 70 educational institutions from 15 countries. Our students can choose the trajectory of their studies taking into account 37 joint educational programs (academic exchange programs, two-degree programs). Foreign students come to VSUES to receive training in economics, management, linguistics, design, and tourism.

Our university is the organizer of major international events and events. Such as the Spartakiad of foreign students of universities of the Far East (more than 5 thousand people), the Russian language contest of the northeastern provinces of China (more than 10 million people), the International University Fashion, Style and Beauty Week Pacific University Style Week (3 thousand people), the International interuniversity Festival "I study in Russia" (about 1.5 thousand participants).

VSUES is a member of the Association of Universities of the Far East, Siberia and the Northeastern Provinces of China, the Russian-Chinese Association of Economic Universities.

The achievements of the international activities of the VSUES in the field of education, science and culture are confirmed by figures, you can clearly see it is less formal and beautiful manifestation at the exhibition of gifts presented to the university by foreign partners.

The very tradition of cementing business and friendly relations with gifts has a centuries-old history, is part not only of personal and business relations, but also of the diplomatic protocol and etiquette of interstate contacts. The gift serves as a symbol of sincerity of intentions, expresses hope for long-term cooperation. Gifts presented at international meetings often represent the national culture of the giver, introduce local arts or crafts, and have benevolent symbols.

— A gift is not only a painting, a scroll or a statuette; it can be a concert, a book, an exhibition, even a garden. Like, for example, the gifts of Toyama Prefecture (Japan) — Sakura Alley and Toyama Friendship Garden-Vladivostok named after Yoshio Morimoto, who turned twenty this year. Such gifts impose a great responsibility on the receiving party, testifies to a deep mutual understanding and belong to more than one generation, — says the director of the Museum and Exhibition Complex, Nadezhda Sukhareva.

The exhibition presents gifts from delegations, partner universities and organizations from the People's Republic of China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Vietnam, Laos, Mongolia, CIS countries and the European Union. These are objects of decorative and applied art, photographs and souvenirs with corporate symbols. All of them are only part of the evidence of the extensive contacts of the VSUES in various spheres of international cooperation.

The new exhibition space is located in the lobby of the third building (41 Gogol Street) and will last until the end of 2021.
