The Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation (MGIMO) completed its work at the annual Vitaly Churkin Moscow International Model UN. The students of the "International Relations" department of VSUES took part in it.

Model UN is a role-playing game for future diplomats. Delegates discuss major problems of world politics and try to find ways to solve them. This is a great chance for «international relation» students to gain new knowledge, try their hand at a serious platform and communicate with colleagues from different countries.

The delegates of VSUES shared their impressions of the event.

Ekaterina Tier, 3rd year student of the «International relation»:

— Participation in the Moscow International Model UN left many positive impressions. The experience I got, I am sure, will help me become a true professional. This time we were able to try our hand at the committee, which conducted its work in Russian, which helped to feel less awkward and participate in the work as productively as possible. In addition, we were able to meet a lot of very different interesting people, participate in exciting activities of the cultural program and unlock our potential.

Participation in this event for me personally is the most valuable experience, which will never be forgotten and which I will definitely want to repeat. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this Model.

Anastasia Voron-Kowalskaya, third-year student of the Defense Ministry:

— First of all, I would like to note the professionalism of the organizers of the Moscow Model UN: from the formation of the Secretariat, to the events of the Model. The lectures before the Model, the official opening, the Ball, the Global Village, the excursion to the House of Culture — this is what makes the conference unique and madly interesting. I would like to say a special thanks to the delegates who came from all over Russia — thanks to them, our sessions were very easy and friendly. We made friends with people from Moscow, Kazan, Murmansk, and St. Petersburg — it was worth spending sleepless nights preparing for.

The agenda of the World Health Organization is where the real debate is. I would like to note the professionalism of the delegates and the Secretariat - our committee was made up of people who really know what they are talking about. And the sessions in Russian helped us to be bolder, to express our positions without embarrassment, and to defend the interests of our countries. It's just an unforgettable Model, which I want to repeat, despite the difficult preparations and work in the committee

Roman Grivanov, Head of International Relations and Law Department, VSUES:

— Such events allow future professionals in the field of international relations and politics to not only prove themselves and develop, but also to communicate with future colleagues, establish friendships and professional ties, open new opportunities for themselves. Therefore, we give our most active and diligent students a mandatory opportunity to participate in the UN Models of this scale.
