VVSU freshmen congratulated on the start of the new academic year

Welcome ceremony for students was held at Vladivostok State University to celebrate the start of the new academic year. The main guests of the celebration were the three thousand first-year students who this year received the status of VVSU student.

The VVSU rector, Doctor of Economics, Professor Tatiana Terenteva, welcomed the audience.

– Three thousand first-year students have come to our university, and each of you is the capital with which we will live tomorrow. I am sure you will make a worthy contribution to the success of our university and increase its glory.

You became students in a momentous year for us. On the eve of our 55th anniversary, we received a new name, Vladivostok State University, thereby confirming our status as a classical university. This opens up new opportunities for the university and for our students.

All the best that the university has to offer – outstanding teachers, laboratories, a wonderful sports complex – for you, dear first-year students!

The VVSU rector emphasized that the young people will spend the next academic years together as a family, within the walls of their alma mater, and wished that this time be perceived as the happiest one.

Vladivostok State University is like a real separate planet with its own atmosphere, inhabitants and rules. The brightest stars of sports, art, and science light up in the student environment at VVSU, defending the university's honour in regional, national, and international competitions.
