Meet the School of Law and the School of Pedagogy and Linguistics of VVSU
This past weekend, Vladivostok State University opened doors to all those who are deciding on their future place of study.
On Saturday, two schools presented the benefits of learning – the School of Law and the School of Pedagogy and Linguistics.
The serious event was more like a holiday – the organizers made sure that prospective students received useful information in an interesting way. The VVSU students talked about the special features of studying at the university.
The applicants learned about the School of Law''s undergraduate and specialist degree programs, the school''s cooperation with various state authorities where students start their professional practice from their second academic year, all kinds of youth associations, the convenient geographical location of the university in the city center and the wide range of additional educational programs.
– For the Open Day we prepared a student-initiated program. Our students know what applicants want, – shared Ella Goryan, associate professor of civil and legal disciplines. – Our students are members of the youth division of the Association of Lawyers of Russia. The students of the School of Law have a lot of practice, they work in a legal clinic, which holds weekly receptions for citizens and under the guidance of an experienced lawyer, the students provide free legal assistance.
The presentation of the School of Pedagogy and Linguistics began with a speech by director Yulia Konovalova:
– What do we teach students? Firstly, to speak foreign languages. Secondly, to communicate successfully in their work, to teach foreign language classes and to use the most up-to-date information technology for learning. Moreover, our students can listen to and translate foreign music, read books, develop and broaden their horizons by speaking a foreign language.
Students from the School of Pedagogy and Linguistics prepared the language quest «Journey to other worlds», consisting of 7 workshops, each dedicated to a different language and area of knowledge.
