VVSU Director of the School of Pedagogy and Linguistics: a positive attitude towards Russia begins with the Russian language

The year 2023 has been declared the Year of the Russian Language in the CIS. The 10th Far East Media Summit's international section of the same name was devoted to the importance of studying the Russian language and the traditions of Russian culture.

Yulia Konovalova, director of the School of Pedagogy and Linguistics of VVSU, moderated the event.

The speakers took turns telling about the state of affairs regarding the study and functioning of the Russian language in their region or country.

The participants spoke about the high popularity of the Russian language in Tajikistan and Armenia, which is promoted by many competitions for schoolchildren, students, literary festivals and other events.

Many topics sparked a heated discussion among participants. All speakers noted the important role of universities and the media sector in promoting Russian language and culture abroad.
