The film of VVSU graduates became a prize-winner of the XIX A man and a sea – 2023 festival

In the last days of July, Vladivostok hosted the XIX A man and a sea Television Documentary Film Festival. The documentary film Nivkh: Small Nation of the Big Country won the Best Debut nomination, created by graduates of the Higher School of Film and Television of VVSU Tatiana Kolka, Maxim Brilev and Evgeniya Brykina.

The day before the film was presented as a diploma work at the defense of graduate qualification works in the direction of "Television", and was highly appreciated by the certification committee.

The film "Nivkh: Small Nation of the Big Country" tells about the life and culture of the small indigenous nation of the north of Sakhalin.  The film crew managed to see and record the traditional life and age-old customs of the Nivkhs, which have survived to this day. The film was shot under the supervision of an associate professor at the Higher School of Film and Television in the Sakhalin township of Nogliki.
