VII International Exhibition Contest in Architecture, Design and Fine Arts “5.0” Opened in VVSU Museum

The international exhibition contest among students and professors, professional authors and creative teams of the Russian Far East and Asia-Pacific countries in the field of architecture, design and fine arts “5.0” began in the museum complex of VVSU. The exhibition is held with the support of the Primorsky Regional Branch of Architects of Russia and along with the annual festival “Architecture of Primorye 2023”.

During the opening of the exhibition the director of the Institute of Creative Industries, PhD in Technical Sciences, Inna Klochko said the works of the beginner designers and professional ones were presented at the contest. The peculiarity of the current exhibition is that this academic year VVSU began training students in the field of “Architecture” for the first time.

“Exhibition is named “5.0” since it was made in 50th VVSU anniversary year, 7 years ago,” said Inna Klochko. – The idea authors of the event were Olga Ivanova, Tatiana Zaitceva, Marina Shchekaleva, Elena Filonenko, Alla Voronkova. This is the nucleus of the university, which trains students to become the professionals in creative industries of Primorsky Krai, Russia and foreign countries.

The chairman of the jury of the exhibition, chairman of the Primorsky branch of the Union of Architects of Russia Vladislav Dumnov addressed the participants and guests with a welcoming speech:

“I am sure that this exhibition will remain in our memory as an event that changed our ideas about modern architecture and design. All works reflect the deep meaning of creative talent and inspiring ideas. I wish you enjoy visiting the exhibition and wish you success in your artistic way.”

Olga Ivanova, a member of the exhibition jury, associate professor of the Department of Design and Technology at VVSU, member of the Union of Designers of Russia, member of the Union of Architects of Russia, noted that many works presented online, including the works of the foreign students from China and the Republic of Korea.

“Our goal is to encourage and promote talented authors – both students and professionals. We want increase the popularity design and architecture. We are glad that more and more universities in the country are joining our exhibition.”

Practicing fashion designer and graduate student of VVSU Institute of Creative Industries, Kirill Shestopalov, presented a collection of women''s suits, which became his thesis upon completion of his bachelor''s degree.

“Of course, the dream of every contestant is to win the Grand Prix, but the main goal is to introduce the work to the audience and get it interested in the presented collection,” says Kirill Shestopalov. My collection was completed and perfected especially for this exhibition. It is inspired by Vladivostok, its movement, its avant-garde spirit. My costumes are already famous in the city. Some musical groups perform wearing them. The garments presented here are exhibition samples, but any of them that the customer likes can be sewn directly onto the figure according to the principle of a capsule collection.

The students of College of Industry of Fashion and Beauty Iullia Semenchuk, Alisa Litvinova and Daria Volkova presented the collection “Forrest Wedding”. The show was made by “Pygmalion” theatre of fashion.

“The highlight of our collection is that it was created from decommissioned materials, actually from scraps,” says Iulia Semenchuk. – We have made a full collection. Each product is as individual as possible, but together these are images of the forest and the various mythical beings. These are fairies, and goblins, and simply stylizations of different trees. The basic images are suitable for any age and, as you can see, they are demonstrated by girls of different age groups.
