Foreign Students of VVSU Congratulated Laos on Its 48th Anniversary
Talented performances by VVSU foreign students became part of a large concert program dedicated to the 48th Anniversary of the Republic of Laos. It took place at the Children''s Art School named after. S. Prokofiev No. 1 in Vladivostok.
The representatives of the Lao People''s Democratic Republic, students of diplomatic classes, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as residents and guests of Vladivostok took part in the celebration. 30 Laotian students and students of the preparatory department congratulated the Republic on behalf of VVSU. The students performed the melodic song “Pearl of the Mekong” and a national Laotian dance. Galina Kasyanenko, a first category specialist from the Institute of Pedagogy and Linguistics at VVSU, helped them prepare the performance.
The mayor''s office of the Far Eastern capital also plans to hold various events that will help residents of the two countries learn more about each other''s culture and traditions and find new friends.
VVSU and the Lao People''s Democratic Republic have strong diplomatic relations. Every year, children from Laos enter the university and participate in student life actively.
This autumn, VVSU hosted a meeting between VVSU students from Laos and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People''s Democratic Republic to the Russian Federation, Vilawan Yiapohe. They discussed the training of escort interpreters at VVSU to work with Russian tourists in Laos and the possibility of training Laotian students in secondary vocational education programs.
