VVSU celebrated Student Day
VVSU solemnly celebrated one of the most favorite youth holidays, the Student''s Day, in Russia also known as Tatyana''s Day. Festive events started in the morning and lasted until evening. Interactive events, competitions, and a presentation of the federal project did not let anybody get bored.
Lomonosov Convoy opened the program. Milestones were installed in VVSU Winter Garden to act the path of the great scientist from Kholmogory village to Moscow. At each “station” the participants had to complete a task for a time, which was measured by a sandglass.
“This is the first time I’ve celebrated Student’s Day so cheerfully. In Chile, this holiday is just a day off. And at VVSU it’s so much fun, there are so many interesting events, they even give gifts,” said Alexandr Carrion, a student at the preparatory department for foreign citizens.
“This day we were able to step away a little from studying and just enjoy the fact that we are students. A very interesting holiday program,” said Adeliya Samudinova, a student at the International Institute of Environment and Tourism.
“This is my first Student Day celebration. The university’s festive program is amazing,” said Dmitry Ovchinnikov, a student at the Academic College.
The celebration continued with a traditional speed-eating tournament. The conclusion of the holiday was the intellectual tournament “What? Where? When?" for the VVSU Rector''s Cup. 22 teams took part in it.
The most “frost-resistant” students went to the Avangard stadium in the evening, where they took part in the “Student Sports Night”. On the ice of the largest skating rink in the city, relay races, games, and, of course, a disco took place.
Student life is the most memorable time in every person’s life, a time of bold hopes and bright ideas. Tatyana''s Day is a holiday of youth, a holiday of all those who keep in their souls the fire of creativity, the thirst for knowledge and new discoveries.
