The International Interuniversity Festival “I Study in Russia took place at VVSU. Many cultures came together on one stage to meet each other and show their talents. This year, more than one hundred students from eight universities from twenty countries took part in the festival.

The students had the opportunity to show themselves from different sides. They participated in theatrical, literary, choreographic, instrumental, vocal, culinary and photo nominations. The festival jury included Russian language teachers, leading photographers, and heads of creative teams of universities.

Participants in the literary competition recited poems by heart from great Russian poets: Pushkin, Mayakovsky, Rozhdestvensky, Yesenin, Nekrasov, Akhmatova and many others.

The famous characters were performed by foreign students as part of a theater competition. The participants prepared performances on: “Cat’s House”, “The Adventures of Pinocchio”, “The Flying Ship” and “Ivan Vasilyevich Changes His Profession”. All performances were emotional, fun and exciting.

Participants in the vocal competition performed famous Russian songs. The whole audience sang along with the beginning artists. Several participants played musical instruments: synthesizer, flute, guitar, trumpet. The audience was also pleased with the choreography of foreign students. Russian folk, modern dances and even classical ballet were presented.

In the photo competition, participants presented their photographs under the theme “I study in Russia.” The jury evaluated them in several categories: landscape, tourist and street photography.

The most delicious part of the festival is the culinary competition. Students presented pork in sweet and sour sauce, shrimp in mayonnaise, egg pies, chicken wings, Uzbek pilaf, and pumpkin curry. According to the participants themselves, each of them spent several hours preparing the dish. The jury members assessed the serving of dishes, their presentation and, most importantly, taste. Without exception, all the dishes turned out to be incredibly tasty and disappeared from the table very quickly after the end of the competition.

The festival ended with a colorful gala concert.
