This spring another student trip to Moscow took place. The educational program of the trip took place on the basis of the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia named after Patrice Lumumba. Students learned about the educational environment of the university, and also took part in business games and master classes on business ethics, business communications and entrepreneurship.

“A large number of students of higher and secondary vocational education from VVSU take part in educational tours. We are planning to expand educational tours and invite students from leading universities in the country. After all, such cooperation and participation in major international events allows us to develop professional competencies and introduce modern innovative approaches into the activities of students and faculty,” noted Ilona Oleinikova, director of the youth tour operator “VVSU-Travel”, associate professor of the department of tourism and hotel and restaurant business.

VVSU students also took part in panel discussion “Friendship of Peoples,” organized by RUDN University professors. Foreign students talked about their country, traditions and features of their native language. There was also national cuisine. A master class “Cuisine of the World” was organized at RUDN University, where foreign students taught how to make Bulgarian dumplings and treated the guests to a chocolate fondue.

“Making dumplings was very fun! Foreign students of RUDN University told us about their national cuisine and shared their impressions of studying and living in Russia. And then we all together ate raztrivunkas, theBulgarian dumplings, with sour cream,” said VVSU students.

Participants of the educational tour visited the International Exhibition of Tourism and Hospitality Industry MITT-2024, where IT technologies and trends in the field of tourism were represented, as well as the exhibition-forum “Russia” at VDNKh. According to the students, it made a huge impression on them, filled them with inspiration and desire to move forward.

“I really enjoyed the trip. I understood the importance of the tourism industry, its rapid development and endless possibilities. This experience gives us an understanding that the industry needs specialists who can provide high-quality services. I thank VVSU Travel for organizing such an amazing tour,” said Svetlana Pastukhova, a student at the Academic College.
