VVSU at Student Summer Games "Youth of Primorye"

VVSU students won 8 medals at the first International Youth Student Summer Games "Youth of Primorye", which were held in Vladivostok from June 22 to 25. The university athletes took 1 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals to the collection.

Athletes from Russia, Belarus, China, North Korea, Uzbekistan and India competed for victory in 12 kinds of sport: tennis and table tennis, beach volleyball, 3x3 basketball, 8x8 football, badminton, swimming, boxing, cross country running, chess, indoor rowing, as well as in a functional-digital sport - 3x3 phygital basketball.

Our university was represented at the competition by 40 athletes and 200 volunteers. VVSU students competed in nine disciplines: 3x3 basketball, phygital basketball, table tennis, beach volleyball, track and field, swimming, chess, boxing and badminton.

The gold medal was won by Roman Vyacheslav, a first-year student of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports, who defeated an athlete from FEFU in the 71 kg weight category in boxing. VVSU swimmers brought four medals to the team''s collection. Ilya Ilyushenko, a third-year student of the Institute of Information Technology and Data Analysis, won silver in the 100-meter butterfly swimming, and Nikolai Morozov, a graduate of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports, won two silver medals in the 100-meter freestyle and 100-meter backstroke, as well as bronze in the 50-meter freestyle.

VVSU basketball players became silver medalists, losing to the Belarusian team in the games in the 3x3 format. Alina Gisyuk, a student of the Institute of Law, and Alena Kim, a first-year student of the Institute of Pedagogy and Linguistics, were third in the doubles standings in table tennis. Sofia Doroshenko, a third-year student of the Institute of Physical Culture and Sports, won a bronze medal in badminton in singles.

The award ceremony for the winners of the I International Youth Student Summer Games "Youth of Primorye" was attended by the rector of VVSU, Doctor of Economics, professor, candidate for master of sports in canoeing and kayaking Tatyana Terenteva and by the head of the Youth Policy Department Alexey Busygin.

"VVSU is rightfully considered one of the most athletic universities in the Far Eastern region - this is thanks to the Student Sports Club "Sharks". At our university sport is a way of life. Out of 15 thousand students, more than 85% are involved in sports, 50% of faculty and staff cannot imagine their life without sports," said Tatyana Terenteva. - "Champion" sports complex offers the best conditions for students, staff and all residents of Vladivostok who want to fully engage in sports, maintain a healthy lifestyle."

The winners were awarded medals, diplomas, memorable gifts in a solemn atmosphere.
