Volunteers of VVSU at the site of the international BRICS forum
VVSU volunteers traditionally spend the summer at various events and forums. The students took an active part in the international BRICS forum, which was held in Vladivostok and brought together more than 150 representatives from 32 countries.
The volunteers'''' responsibilities included promptly resolving issues that arose during the organization and holding of the forum. The students prepared the site for holding sections, checked the operation of simultaneous translation devices, met the guests, conducted bus and sea excursions and worked as translators.
For VVSU Institute of Law student Alexey Litvinov, participation in the BRICS forum is one of the largest events in which he had the opportunity to participate. The head of the Department of International Relations and Law Roman Grivanov suggested Alexey to take part in the forum as a voluteer. The student said he felt very comfortable working at the forum, and his volunteer experience helped him a lot: for two years he has been actively participating in the forums of the international business club "Dialogues".
"For me, this is a unique and invaluable experience of working at an event of this scale. Our coordinator, the head of the event, showed how one could perform a large number of tasks, while managing people well. I am very glad that I had a chance to attend the forum and meet interesting people. The organizers are true professionals in their field, and thanks to them, the forum was held at the highest level," shared Alexey Litvinov.
Participation in large international events gives VVSU volunteers an excellent opportunity to improve their English language skills and to see how such events are being organized.
"I am very glad that the students take part in such forums. They help to learn about the organization of international platforms. The skills acquired by our volunteers during such events give them the opportunity to clearly and competently solve all assigned tasks,” noted the head of the VVSU Volunteer Center, Grigory Pinchuk.
