Russian-Chinese Center for Creative Design to be Established at VVSU
It is planned to establish a Russian-Chinese Center for Creative Design at VVSU. The Center will allow the university to hold all kinds of design-related events together with its colleagues from China.
Prospects for cooperation in this area were discussed by the First Vice-Rector of VVSU Sergei Golikov, VVSU Director of the Institute of Creative Industries Inna Klochko, and representatives of the Chinese delegation of the Heilongjiang Province Exhibition Industry Research Association, headed by Vice-President Ms. Wang Huan.
During the discussion, the partners came to the conclusion that joint events provide an opportunity to exchange experience and advanced technologies. Participation in joint projects motivates and stimulates creativity, promotes communication between authoritative experts. According to Sergei Golikov, such cooperation opens up broad horizons for both parties for holding joint events in the fashion industry, interior design, exhibition space design, and creating objects with elements of glocal (global and local) design.
“I would like to note that such interaction is a breakthrough in teaching design at all levels of education. These are various student exchanges, summer and winter schools for designers. For example, our students will be given a unique opportunity to prove themselves professionally and creatively in the design of the Ice Sculpture Festival in Harbin and other art objects,” added Sergey Golikov.
Inna Klochko, Director of the Institute of Creative Industries of VVSU, also emphasized that during the meeting, issues of interaction in the creation of any design products from the point of glocalization were discussed.
“Such cooperation provides an opportunity to promote previously patented design objects and industrial designs. It also provides an opportunity to establish academic exchanges between students, an opportunity to interact with,” Inna Klochko concluded.
