VVSU Faculty and Students Took Part in a Photo-Travel Tour of China

As part of the Year of China-Russia Culture, the VVSU delegation made a photo-travel tour of Heilongjiang Province of the People''''s Republic of China. The participants of the creative journey around the Celestial Empire were students majoring in “Technique and Art of Photography” of the VVSU College of Fashion and Beauty Industry. The students were accompanied by teacher Olga Sorokina, as well as members of the "Flagman" photo club. The tour for the students was organized by the director of the Institute of Creative Industries Inna Klochko.

The photographers had the opportunity to meet with the management and members of the association of photographers of the urban district of Mudanjiang and to prove themselves in master classes.

The delegation went to Jingbohu Lake, where they were able to capture stunning natural locations. Then the resulting photographs were presented at an exhibition in the Mudanjiang Gallery. At the end of the photo tour, the participants of the event were awarded certificates and memorable gifts.

According to Olga Sorokina, a teacher at the College of Fashion and Beauty Industry at VVSU, participation in such events is an exchange of experience, an understanding of how the process of organizing a photo shoot in other countries is technically carried out, and how the tasks that students learn at the college are accomplished.

“This is a great opportunity for students to learn about the culture of another country, and to gain experience in professional interaction with colleagues from China. As a curator of a study group, I am glad that my students are invited to such events and given the opportunity to prove themselves in the field of photography,” Olga Sorokina noted.

“The park with mini-amusements and a large number of photo zones made the most vivid impression on me. It amazed me with its size and interesting design. The event gave me the opportunity to see the view of foreigners on photography, as well as the opportunity to make new acquaintances. In the future, I would like to use these skills in my profession and expand my shooting opportunities,” shared her impressions Margarita Ageeva, a third-year student majoring in Photography Technique and Art.

Following the tour, an international exhibition of photographs about the history and culture, attractive views of Mudanjiang and Vladivostok "The World of Beauty and Friendship in the Lens" will open in Vladivostok. The authors of the best works will be recommended for joining the Association of Photographers of Mudanjiang and Heilongjiang Province.

The Russian and Chinese parties plan to continue participating in similar events with the organization of visits to other beautiful places in the two countries.
