The professional holiday was celebrated by those in VVSU whose main task is to unite people from all over the world through traveling. VVSU has been has been offering programs in tourism industry for many years, so the International Tourism Day is celebrated at the university on a large scale.

In VVSU Winter Garden, there were several interactive zones prepared by students majoring in Tourism. Each site reflected a certain tourism sector, and everyone could participate in quizzes and competitions.

"We chose an interactive format for the holiday to attract students from different fields of study. I think we managed to show that tourism is a multifaceted and very interesting area. It is nice to see that students are passionate about their future profession, are happy to participate in master classes of other colleges and share their impressions,” said Galina Petrova, Associate Professor of the Department of Tourism and Hotel and Restaurant Business.

In honor of the holiday, first-year students of the Tourism and Hospitality program had the opportunity to feel like real professionals and conduct a sightseeing tour of the VVSU campus. As Anastasia Povetkina, a teacher of the College of Tourism and Hospitality and head of the tourist information department of the Primorye Tourist Information Center, noted, the students were very involved in preparing for the excursion and choosing the objects they would talk about.

“It was exciting, but interesting to immediately immerse yourself in the profession. It turned out that it is not so easy to hold the attention of the audience, without paying attention to distracting external factors, and at the same time convey information competently and interestingly,” shared her impressions student Veronika Mitnyuk.

The International Institute of Environment and Tourism of VVSU is a leader in training personnel in the field of tourism in the Far East. Students gain knowledge in the field of tour operator activities, hotel and restaurant business, and after graduation they can work in many areas, including public administration.
