The countries of Europe, Asia, as well as the USA and Australia, are preparing their stands at the National China Exhibition Center in Beijing. In total, about 400 universities from more than 20 countries participated in the exhibition. This year, at China Education Expo 2024, Russian higher education was represented by 39 universities from various cities of the country from St. Petersburg to Vladivostok. The center of the Russian pavilion was the exposition of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia.

The Russian pavilion became one of the largest at the exhibition, with more than 80 representatives of Russian universities working at the stands. Olga Severyanova, Irina Akisheva and Alexander Doldo conducted work at the stand of Vladivostok State University. They met applicants and their parents, representatives of educational organizations and various companies. About 50,000 people visited the exhibition over two days.

President of the China Association for International Educational Exchanges under the Ministry of Education of the People''''s Republic of China Liu Liumin visited the exposition and addressed the participants from Russia with greetings. The events were attended by the Director of the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing Tatiana Urzhumtseva and the Advisor to the Russian Embassy in China on Education Affairs, the representative of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science in China Igor Pozdnyakov.

“As part of the exhibition, consultations were held and contacts were established with educational institutions with the aim of further expansion of international cooperation,” said VVSU Rector Tatiana Terenteva. “Also and VVSU’s readiness to conclude agreements with recruiting companies to organize further work on attracting Chinese citizens for training was preliminarily indicated.”

VVSU Rector Tatiana Terenteva met with the Vice-Rector of the Harbin University of Commerce. They discussed promising areas and opportunities for the new “1+3” joint educational program of VVSU and HU which was launched in September 2024. The peculiarity of this program is that students prepare for one year to study abroad, and then study at a university abroad for the next three years.

The exhibition also included meetings with representatives of the Harbin Educational Services Company, where the study of the Russian language by Chinese students at the preparatory faculty was discussed.

“Chinese students are interested in economic and pedagogical education, adaptive physical education, and digital technologies,” said Tatiana Terenteva, Rector of VVSU. “We currently have over 400 Chinese students studying at VVSU, and I am sure their number will increase.”

During the exhibition, the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing (Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo) organized a number of events for Russian universities – the First Russian-Chinese Forum of Private Educational Institutions “Culture of Education” and an annual meeting for Russian universities with representatives of recruiting agencies.

The key goal of all events at the China Education Expo 2024, in which VVSU took an active part, is to promote the VVSU brand, develop inter-university cooperation, and enhance the image and attractiveness of VVSU educational services in China.
