New Year Festival of Culture and Friendship of China and Russia Took Place at VVSU
A bright New Year gala concert with the participation of Russian and Chinese students was held at Vladivostok State University. The event was organized by VVSU and the Consulate General of the People''''s Republic of China in Vladivostok with the assistance of the Association of Chinese Students and Scientists of Primorsky Krai.
Distinguished guests of honor at the event were the Consul General of the People''''s Republic of China in Vladivostok Piao Yanfan, Deputy Head of the Vladivostok City Administration Daria Stegnii, Head of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia in Vladivostok Andrei Brovarets, Vice-Rector for International Relations of FEFU Evgeny Vlasov, Rector of the State Autonomous Institution of Additional Professional Education "Primorsky Krai Institute for Education Development" Tatiana Melnikova and Vice-Rector for Strategic Development of the General Education System Ksenia Mikhaleva, employees of the Consulate General of the People''''s Republic of China in Vladivostok.
The First Vice-Rector of VVSU Sergei Golikov noted the importance of celebrating the New Year. For residents of the Far East, this is a special moment, because they can celebrate it twice: according to the European and Chinese calendars. This is traditionally a family holiday, when you can gather with loved ones and make plans for the future. Sergei Golikov expressed hope that the New Year of the Wise Snake will be better than the outgoing one.
Consul General of the PRC in Vladivostok Piao Yangfan welcomed everyone and noted the joyful atmosphere of the New Year holiday. She expressed gratitude to VVSU and other universities for organizing events and supporting Chinese students.
The Consul General said that cultural exchanges will continue in the new year, including the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. She wished health and happiness to all those present, as well as prosperity and development of Chinese-Russian relations.
The concert opened with the song "Wish Fulfillment", symbolizing hopes and dreams. Then the audience plunged into the world of classics with the dance "Green and White Snake", telling about a thousand-year love performed by Li Ruihan and Hao Jihong.
The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry''''s representative office in Vladivostok Andrey Brovarets wished everyone health and optimism in the new year. Deputy head of the Vladivostok administration Daria Stegniy emphasized the importance of developing humanitarian ties between Russia and China.
The final chord of the evening was the song "I love you, China", expressing deep love and respect for China, as a close friend and comrade.
