Folk festivities were held at Vladivostok State University. Foreign students were told about Russian traditions of celebrating the New Year with round dances, amusements, games and competitions.

A rich cultural program was prepared for the university students: caroling and Christmastide dressing up along with modern traditions. Foreign students tested themselves in Russian New Year fun. Along with traditional games, the guests participated in modern dance battles and competitions.

“Such events unite international students. The students come to study in Russia and the most important thing is that apart from learning Russian language, they also understand our traditions. Learning any language is impossible without immersion in the cultural life of the country,” said Olga Severyanova, Deputy Director of the International and Cultural Affairs Department of VVSU.

More than 50 foreign students of VVSU took part in the celebration. A significant part of them were guests from China, Laos and South Korea. Many of them actively participate in its cultural life. Thus, in December 2024, students organized the largest New Year''''s concert in Vladivostok for foreign students of Primorye. Today, more than 600 foreign students from 23 countries study at VVSU. According to this indicator, the university ranks second in the Far East, being one of the leaders in the quality of training students from abroad.
