Rector of VVSU Tatiana Terenteva and Consul General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Vladivostok Yusup Kabulzhanov Agreed on Developing Cooperation

At the end of December, a meeting between Rector of VVSU Tatyana Terentyeva and Consul General of the Republic of Uzbekistan Yusup Kabulzhanov took place. For the recently appointed Consul General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Vladivostok Yusup Kabulzhanov, this was the first visit to VVSUDuring the meeting the plans to expand bilateral cooperation were discussed.

The meeting was attended by Director of the International and Cultural Affairs Department of VVSU Petr Semin and Third Secretary of the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abrorjon Rakhmanov.

Tatyana Terentyeva noted that the cooperation between VVSU and Uzbekistan is developing. The cooperation started in 2015, when the first agreements with schools of Uzbekistan were concluded.

 “Our university is small, but very comfortable, we have a friendly environment, we love and value our students. We have developed an effective system of socio-cultural adaptation of first-year foreign students. Today, about 150 students from Uzbekistan study at VVSU,” said VVSU Rector Tatyana Terentyeva. “A talented student from Uzbekistan, Erik Chudayev, was included in the “Golden Fund of VVSU Graduates.” After graduating from the Institute of International Business, Economics and Management, and then postgraduate studies, he returned to his homeland, where he currently has good prospects in his professional activities.”

During the meeting the emphasis was made on the opening of the VVSU Russian Language Center on the basis of the Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service.

 “VVSU already has experience in creating similar educational structures. Together with the Lao National University in Vientiane, we opened the Center for Russian Language and Culture,” said VVSU Rector Tatiana Terenteva. “We are actively developing contacts with our Laotian colleagues. We expect that the educational center project in Samarkand will be just as successful.”

Particular attention at the meeting was paid to the development of culture and sports. Yusup Kabulzhanov proposed organizing joint sports competitions. VVSU, in turn, invited the Consul General to a meeting with students in the “Invited Speaker” project.

 “I am confident that our cooperation will help to strengthen the partnership, cultural and historical ties between the peoples of our countries,” concluded the Consul General of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
